At the top of every hour (when there is light in the room), the clock plays a melody, alternating between one of three famous hymns: Amazing Grace, Rock of Ages, and What a Friend We Have in Jesus. Each melody lasts 20-30 seconds. A light sensor at top of the clock face deactivates music when the room is dark.
